NOAA’s By the Numbers web story shows the scope of restoration work NOAA has completed in the Great Lakes to strengthen fisheries and ecosystems, benefit local economies, and support resilient communities.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has completed significant habitat restoration work in the Great Lakes region through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Their "By the Numbers" web story shows exactly how much they have accomplished through 2021.

For 12 years, NOAA has used GLRI funds to restore 4,600 acres of habitat in 85 projects across six states and in 17 Areas of Concern in the Great Lakes basin.
