GLRI Funds Help Brothers Protect Water

(March 7, 2019) Mark Story knew that piling manure on the ground was “just not the best thing to do.” He and his brother Brian decided to do something about it which started with a visit to their local USDA Service Center and contracting for a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP). The plan was developed by a private technical service provider with financial assistance provided through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program with funding from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. After completing their CNMP, the brothers have contracted to implement a number of conservation practices that will help improve water quality.
